Distance Education
The University of Tennessee offers 22 fully accredited semester-based web-delivered; undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees and certificates. Courses are delivered by a variety of on-line formats including "Live Online", an Internet-based technology that allows students and faculty to log on at a given day and time for real time learning experience. (Recordings of classes are also available for reference during the semester.) Delivery methods vary according to academic programming area.
Degree programs and courses offered via distance education are the same as the degree programs on campus, taught by the same faculty and governed by the same high academic standards and regulations. Course content for the majority of programs is delivered completely online. Depending upon the program, some residency periods or on-campus instruction may be required.
